Jennifer is a playwright with the Workshop Theater Company in New York City. She is published by Samuel French and the Dramatic Publishing Company. She has been a finalist twice in the Samuel French Short Play Festival, and was a winner in the Theatre Resources Unlimited Playreading Series in NYC and the Live Wire Play competition in Chicago with her play Endurance.

Jennifer’s work was twice published in the New York Times in 2021, as a winner in the Golden Shovel Poem competition in April, as well as a Tiny Love Story in May.

Her play Mother’s Day (now called Rosemary and Time) received a three-day reading at the Workshop Theatre in NYC in 2015, and a sold-out full production at the Paradise Factory Theatre in February 2018. Rosemary and Time also received a Zoom reading with The Playgirls in Winchester, England, in January 2021.

Seal Songs received an award in the Midtown International Theatre Festival in 2010, and received Zoom readings in 2020 at both New York Society for Ethical Culture, and as a part of Artshare, Church of Heavenly Rest. A Weekend in Filey was performed at the Workshop Theatre in 2011, and also for two runs at the Hen and Chickens Theatre in London over the summer 2014. Endurance had a 2-day rehearsed reading at the Workshop Theatre, May 2019. Jennifer's one-act play The Wave was part of the Workshop Theatre's Out Of The Hat Festival 4 in early 2019, and selected for SWAN Day (Support Women in the Arts Now) 2019. Her one-act play Voices from the Sea was part of Out Of The Hat Festival 5 in Fall 2019. Jennifer’s most recent plays received Zoom readings in 2020: An Amateur Match at the Workshop Theatre Company in May, and Second Chance at Out of the Hat Plays, Workshop Theatre Company, in November.


Monologues from Jennifer's plays have been selected for publication in several monologue books. Two monologues from Seal Song (the first play of the double bill) are published in the True Acting Institute's book, Best Monologues for Women, 2019, and one from Endurance in their book, Best Monologues for Men, 2019. Two monologues from A Weekend in Filey were published by Smith and Kraus in 2020.

Jennifer's poems have twice won honorable mentions in the Gideon Poetry Review. The Great Gray Goose of Grief , winter 2020; and On the Way to Becoming, summer of 2019.


Her book, Pioneer Journeys: Drama in Museum Education (New Plays Inc.), co-authored with Dorothy Napp Schindel, won Distinguished Book of the Year award from the American Alliance of Theatre and Education in 1995.


Jennifer was Director of Drama at Friends Seminary in New York for twenty-two years, Head of the Arts Department at Riverdale Country School, and created the Performing Arts Department for the Spence school. She received a student-nominated Yale award for distinguished teaching in 2007, and is a member of the Dramatists’ Guild.
